Research Interests

The Stajich lab is interested in the evolution of organisms, particularly the Fungi. The research themes revolves around major questions about the evolution of multicellular forms in fungi and the role of post-transcriptional gene regulation in shaping morphological development in fungi. We utilize bioinformatics tools focusing on sequence analysis, phylogenomics, and comparative genomics with application of high throughput sequencing.

Graduate students in the lab can be currently enrolled through Genetics, Genomics, & Bioinformatics, Botany and Plant Sciences, Plant Pathology programs. Students in Computer Science and Statistics may also be co-supervised.
